Can Our Thoughts Heal Us?

I’ve been talking about this concept for a while, now.  Can our thoughts heal us?

There are many out there that will scoff at this statement. But as more time passes, we’re seeing more evidence of healing through mental awareness. Meaning, when you’re aware of what you think, and you focus on thinking you’re healthy, you can manifest that reality. In other posts, I mention that we are all energy. This is a scientific fact. If we’re energy, then what we think is energy.  I recorded a video a while ago where I used the analogy of You yelling into the wind, or air. When you yell, an echo is created. That is energy. You created that energy. That energy bounces off the ether, to the wind (or air) and comes back to you.

Your thoughts work the same way. You think something. That thought is energy. And it comes back to you. So, if you make a statement such as, “I’m an idiot”, that statement as energy goes out and bounces back to you. Your subconscious hears it, not knowing the difference between what is real and not real, and it assumes it to be fact. So, what happens? You just talked yourself into being an idiot.

Do you remember as a child reciting that phrase, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me”? Well, If you think back on that statement, at a time when someone said something hurtful to you, you may recall that you’re feelings were hurt. You made the statement, so the abusive party wouldn’t know you were hurt.

Words have a great effect on who we become. So do your best to make sure all self-talk is positive.

So, now, if we bring the conversation back to our health, we can see how words can affect our ability to do many things. Healing included.

We have many examples to consider when we discuss this idea.

  • Think about how your body reacts when you’re afraid. You usually become stressed. That stress affects your heart rate and your bowels.
  • You may walk into a bakery and smell delicious cake baking. This sense causes you to salivate.
  • How about this one? You open the trash can to throw out something, and there is rotting food in the can. What is your reaction to that? Does it make you want to vomit?

Please don’t think I’m telling you to stop going to your doctor if you have a health condition. I’m making no medical claims here. But here are a few things you can do to begin the process of healing from disease and illness.

  • You should always trust your medical provider. If your doctor is telling you things that make you question what he or she says, then find a new doctor. One you can trust to tell you the truth. One who will listen to your concerns.
  • Meditation is a great way to connect with your inner voice. Meditation isn’t just for the yogi. When you take time to sit and “Be”, you are giving your body an opportunity to heal. You sit quietly, not thinking about anything in particular. Just empty your mind of all thought. By doing this, you can relax and take a break from the stress of the world. Of course, while you are sitting, thoughts will come to mind. When they do, acknowledge them, and let them go. You may have to do this many times before you get the hang of it. But it’s a good way to rest the mind so you can open the door to healing
  • The biggest obstacle to knowing that your thoughts can heal you is by surrounding yourself with the wrong people. If those around you are discounting the idea that you can heal by thought, you will fall victim to their negativity. You want to surround yourself with positivity. Love. Joy. Happiness. These are high vibrational feelings. They are healing frequencies. You want to stay away from fear, guilt, and shame. Those are some of the lowest vibrational frequencies. They are the frequencies that make you sick.
  • Never be afraid to check in with yourself. Some people call this “mindfulness”. When you sit in the quiet, and listen to your body, you will realize things you don’t when you’re racing around trying to keep up with the Jones’. You will be able to feel aches and pains, you will hear the beat of your heart and the blood flowing through your veins. You’ll even be able to hear your digestive system working. By sitting in silence, you will allow your body to disconnect from any stress which will give you the opportunity to connect with your intuition.
  • I think the biggest obstacle to anyone’s healing is mood. When we improve our mood, we improve our health. I think we can all attest to the fact that when we’re in a bad mood, nothing goes well. Including anything with our body. You may end up with a headache. You may trip and fall. You may lash out in traffic, maybe causing an accident. These things can make you anxious, depressed, or hostile (all negative frequencies). All these emotions or feelings promote a lack of oxygen in the body which could have adverse effects on the heart over time. Stress somewhat fits into the idea of changing your mood. When you can change your mood, be more positive, you will reduce stress.
